Alan has been defending aviation products manufacturers and service providers in litigation throughout California, the United States, and the world, for over 20 years. Alan’s work ranges from the defense of clients involved in airport service equipment and operations, to those with products involved in major air disaster litigation, both foreign and domestic.

Alan’s legal work has included the TWA 843 litigation in San Francisco, the AA 965 Cali, Colombia crash litigation in Miami, the Silk Air 185 litigation in Seattle, the SQ006 litigation in Los Angeles, the AF 358 litigation in San Francisco and Toronto, and the Garuda 152 litigation in Chicago. He is currently involved in the litigation arising out of Air France 447, Sudan Airways 109, and Spanair JKK5022, among other complex litigation matters. Alan also represented a major oil company in an aviation fuel contamination class action and related cases involving 1500 aircraft in Northern California.

Alan has spoken and published numerous articles regarding aviation law issues and the impact on aviation product manufacturers, and regularly conducts product integrity audits and seminars for product manufacturers across the United States, Canada and Europe. He is an adjunct Professor of Law at Pepperdine University School of Law in the area of Aviation Accident Law. Alan is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell, and is admitted in all state and federal district courts in California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is also admitted throughout the United States pro hac vice, in order to defend his clients when faced with litigation outside California.
