Nelson practices all aspects of Aviation Products Litigation and insurance defense. He is an F.A.A. certified Airframe & Powerplant Airman and holds an F.C.C. General Radio Telephone License. Prior to law school Nelson worked as an aircraft technician with major air carriers in New York for over 12 years.
Subsequently, while attending law school, Nelson worked as an Aviation law clerk with the founding Fitzpatrick & Hunt attorneys. After law school, Nelson joined Marsh, USA as an Assistant Vice President for Aviation Claims.
At Fitzpatrick & Hunt, Nelson defends aircraft and engine product manufacturers, as well as component manufacturers, airlines, and airport terminal operators, through all stages of litigation. Nelson has participated in international arbitration and litigation processes, including major accidents in Central and Latin America, Europe and Australia.
Nelson is admitted to practice in the Connecticut and New York State courts, and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. He speaks fluent Spanish, is an adjunct instructor for Vaughn College of Aeronautics & Technology, and is a member of The Wings Club.
